Raymundo is an established name in the Dutch DJ scene. No doubt about that. The Amsterdam based DJ is resident and planner at the famous Club Escape at the Rembrandtplein in the Dutch capital and yearly returns to the decks at various big parties of famous brands like Tommy Hillfiger and Endemol. He performed alongside top artists and DJs like Chic’s Nile Rodgers, KC and the Sunshine Band, Snap and David Guetta and rocked the house in almost all the big clubs in the Netherlands.

With a longtime residency of Escape on his CV, he attracted The Quan’s attention because of his passion and heart for music. This man really made his mark in the Dutch music scene. He produced tracks and songs  for among others Sneakerz and helped young and upcoming DJs kickstarting their careers. Raymundo has modern music in his blood and at the Quan we are into music, so we asked him about his plans for the future. We came right in time.

‘It is funny that you ask me about this, because 2014 is going to be a special year for me’, smiles Raymundo when we speak to him in his home studio. ‘Together with my new management CiC group, I am looking abroad for a new impulse of my DJ career. I managed to settle at Escape as a resident since a long time and I will always stay at this fantastic club. It has been one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands for more than 20 years and I really enjoy it there. But I also want to show my skills abroad whenever possible. Therefore I am working hard at new productions at the moment and preparing a launch for an international career’.

The Quan was at Escape Amsterdam on several busy nights and saw that Raymundo has indeed the capacity to be successful on big festivals and in big clubs around the world. He knows exactly how to build up a set, makes the crowd ride the waves on his great mixes and has a superb feeling for the atmosphere. He drives the audience and most of all provides the setting for a great party for everybody. Raymundo is definitely a top DJ. He brings a sound varying from deep house to more EDM, but is not afraid to also bring some really techno-kind material when it is needed. And as we all know, this is necessary for the modern crowd these days.

When we ask Raymundo for his music taste, we learn that he is an overall music lover and also has respect for older songs and different styles of music. ‘That’s even how I get the inspiration for my own productions sometimes. I listen to all kinds of music, even classical music and use all that input in my music, which of course will always be modern dance music, there is no doubt about that’.

We at the Quan are convinced. Raymundo is ready for the major league. He already proved himself in the heart of the world’s biggest dance scene Amsterdam and is now available to the rest of the world.
